Work on massive flood protection project to continue for another four years
Venice is flooding more often and more seriously, the authorities say. But still the city Italians call La Serenissima remains substantially unprotected. According to the engineers running the "MOSE" project, the enormous flood barriers expected to dampen the extreme water events will take longer to build than expected.
